Hi Gary, that was taken with an AF-S DX Nikkor 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR.
I used to have a German shorthair-brittany mix bird dog that looked almost just like this. Such a beautiful and naturally talented animal. He had at least 2 pheasants that he took down out of the air on his own – not a shot fired. =)
Yes, they are incredible athletes.
